CapitalOnStage.com – where the Investors pitch to Startup founders

Post By Arjen ~ 31st August 2011

The very first CapitalOnStage conference is going well… very well actually: this event has been SOLD OUT for over 2 weeks!   On September 14, 2011, Sander and I are bringing together 220 Startup founders from the European technology industry with 20 big-name VC’s. We keep things very exclusive / invitation-only, and also all Startup founders have been carefully selected by us and the team.

We had the idea for CapitalOnStage in spring when we thought of way to break through the traditional ways of getting funded. We asked ourselves: why not directly put Venture Capitalists on a stage so that Startup founders can learn about their working methods and investment strategies. It appeared there’s a need for new business models for an sector in which people scan business models all day long. How’s that for a step change ! (thanks for the word Jason)

Investors that will attend are Peak Capital (Hein Siemerink & Thijs Gitmans), Newion Investments (Erik Averink & Patrick Polak), Prime Ventures (Alexander Ribbink), Three Circles Ventures (Michiel Frackers), Solid Ventures (Floris van Alkemade), Acton Capital (Marcus Polke), Henq Invest (Herman Hintzen & Coen van Duiven), Hummingbird Ventures (Barend van den Brande), Endeit (Martijn Hamann), Wellington Partners (Christian Thaler-Wolski), Doughty Hanson (Ivan Farneti), PROfounders Capital (Sean Seton-Rogers), GIMV (Aik Deveneijns), Index Ventures (Martin Mignot), RTL Ventures (Frank Meijer & a whole bunch of colleagues), Balderton Capital (Charlotte-Anne Nelson & Harry Briggs), Neuhaus Partners (Matthias Brix), DN Capital (Tom Bradley), and Hanse Ventures (Sarik Weber).

Then we’ve got partners like Google, Deloitte, Techhub, The Founder Institute, Rockstart, and many others. They’re all mentioned on the website. We won’t announce all the Startups as it would spoil the fun. Have a peek here if you’d like.

CapitalOnStage is held on September 14, one day before eDay (of which I happen to be their Program Manager), and PicNic. Seems the conference season has started ;-)

All in all, a great crowd is coming together and I’m looking forward to it.

** If you’re a Startup or investor and you like our event, but you couldn’t get a ticket this year – please leave your contact details in this google form and I’ll make sure we’ll get in touch for the 2012 event **
